David R. Holley, MDChair
Radiation Oncology
David R. Holley, MD, has been a Director since 1995 and Chair of the Board since January 2008. He was Secretary of the Board from May 1996 until June 2007 and Vice Chair from June 2007 until December 2007. Dr. Holley currently serves as a California delegate to the American Medical Association and also serves as Vice Chair of the AMA Section Council on Radiology. He has been engaged in the practice of radiation oncology in Monterey County for more than thirty years.
Harry B. Richardson, Jr., MDVice Chair
Hematology/Oncology
Harry B. Richardson Jr., MD, has been a Director since May 1995 and Vice Chair since January 2008. He was engaged in the practice of hematology/oncology in Sonoma County for twenty-nine years. He currently serves as the medical director of a blood bank in Sonoma County.
Jaan E. Sidorov, MD, MHSA, FACPSecretary of the Board
Internal Medicine
Jaan E. Sidorov, MD, MHSA, FACP, has been a Director since January 1, 2009, and Secretary of the Board since June 2010. Dr. Sidorov serves as President of PMSLIC Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of NORCAL Mutual. He is a seasoned primary care physician with extensive knowledge of health insurance, corporate governance, health service research, disease management and health care quality. He has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications.
Patricia A. Dailey, MDAnesthesiology
Patricia A. Dailey, MD, has been a Director since January 2004. She has served as President of the California Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Dailey has been engaged in practice as an anesthesiologist in San Mateo County for more than nineteen years. Currently, she is a Director of Mills-Peninsula Medical Group.
Candace L. Dyer, MDSurgery
Candace L. Dyer, MD, has been a Director since January 2003. She has served as the President of the Rhode Island Medical Society. Dr. Dyer has been engaged in practice as a surgeon in Warwick, Rhode Island, for over twenty-two years. Currently, she is Director of the Breast Health Center at Kent Hospital, Clinical Assistant Professor in Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Alice H. Gannon, FCAS, MAAA, CPCUSenior Vice President & Chief Actuary, USAA
Alice H. Gannon has been a Director since June 2009. She is an actuary who has worked in the insurance industry for more than thirty-three years. Ms. Gannon draws satisfaction from working with companies that offer the best possible service and value to their policyholders. Her career includes long service at USAA and consulting for a number of firms. Ms. Gannon’s background in the insurance industry serves the board well. Her unique perspective and actuarial expertise help NORCAL Mutual continue delivering outstanding service and value.
Roger M. Hayashi, MDVascular Surgery
Roger M. Hayashi, MD, has been a Director since 2004. He has served as a surgical consultant to the Claims Advisory Subcommittee since 1996. Dr. Hayashi has been a vascular surgeon in Santa Clara County for twenty-five years.
M. Diane Koken, JDAttorney at Law
M. Diane Koken, JD, has been a Director since February 2008. She has been an attorney and insurance professional for more than thirty years. Ms. Koken served as the Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner from 1997 to 2007, and as President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners from September 2004 through December 2005. Prior to that, she worked as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for a Philadelphia-based life insurance company. Ms. Koken is currently a consultant and Director of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company. She also is a member of the Advisory Board for the Center for Ethics in Financial Services at The American College.
Michael D. StephensPresident & CEO, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian (retired)
Michael D. Stephens has been a Director since May 1996. He is a retired hospital chief executive officer with thirty-five years executive management experience. He is a Life Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a past member of the board of the American Hospital Association and past chair of the California Hospital Association.
